Network and Systems Administrator

We currently have a full-time permanent opportunity for a Network and Systems Administrator in Queens, NY.  The specs are as follows:

 

The Network and Systems Administrator the primary individual responsible for supporting the data center technologies at their assigned location.  This position provides support in the design and implementation of network infrastructure as well as providing end user support as required. The Network Engineer and Systems Administrator assist the IT Manager in the planning process to support business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

** Leads network deployments; implements servers, workstations, backup systems, and power management solutions (UPS); establishes, supports and maintains Internet connectivity, PC configurations; provides PC troubleshooting: and provides general user support (as needed)
** Day-to-day administration, maintenance and support of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Servers, Routers, Security, data backups, wireless, email, network applications, etc.
** Proactively monitor network infrastructure and respond to alerts and application issues

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

** Associates Degree or equivalent technical training, or relevant field experience required.
** Microsoft CSE or Nortel certifications a plus.
** 3 to 5 years IT infrastructure management experience.
** 1-3 years experience providing technical support, preferably in a help desk environment.
** Associates Degree, or equivalent technical training, or relevant field experience.
** Strong hands-on knowledge of Nortel, Cisco, Microsoft, IP, routing, security, WAN technologies
** Experience with monitoring, backup, inventory, help desk, and other enterprise system tools.
** Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, Active Directory, DNS, Exchange email, Backup Exec, SQL Server, IIS, and other software used by SE.
** Demonstrated skill in managing networks with voice and data communications.
** Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
