Network and Systems Engineer
Summary
The network engineer’s role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network services. This position will require the necessary skills to plan, design, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all network hardware, software, and communication links. This person will also develop local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. In addition, the network engineer will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
Required Experience and Skills
Experience with Windows Servers and Active Directory
Experience with Exchange
Good Understanding of Microsoft Windows OS networking technology
Understanding and familiarity with IT policies and procedures
Experience working in a technical support environment
Good understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts, security, and practice
Ability to diagnose networking problems
Ability to install routers and firewalls in a network.
Experience troubleshooting LAN/Wan connectivity issues, failed Windows server and failed Exchange server
Experience registering domain names, configuring DNS records
24/7 on call responsibilities in a rotating environment
Additional Qualifications and Certifications
A+, MCP, Network+, CCNA and or MCSE certifications are desirable
VMWare experience desirable
Citrix experience desirable
Problem solver
Process oriented (plan, analyze, design, implement & support)
Ability to interface with all levels of the technical & business community
Excellent organizational, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Self motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Team Player
