POSITION SUMMARY:This position is responsible for provisioning Network Data and Voice connectivity for users to Scottrade's corporate core network and telecomm systems. Responsibilities for this position include installation and configuration support for all user moves, adds, and changes in remote branches as well as the home office. This position will also assist with server connectivity in the Data Center.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitoring the helpdesk ticketing system for all Network and Telecomm escalated issues. Resolve Tier 1 issues, or escalate to the appropriate group (25%). Interact with vendors to order circuits, assure on time delivery, and act as the first level of escalation from Scottrade (20%). Maintain proper system documentation and diagrams as it pertains to change management and control (5%). Interface with end-users and helpdesk associates to provide training and knowledge transfer (5%). Provide connectivity to servers, end users, and branches through physical cabling and switch configuration, for both the voice and data networks (25%) Troubleshoot and resolve network and voice connectivity issues (15%). Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned (5%).Required Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical drawings and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple business correspondence, such as emails and memos to external customers. Ability to speak effectively and present information and respond to common inquiries or complaints from internal and external customers in person or via phone conversation. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Basic proficiency with TCP/IP and Cisco routers & switches. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Required Experience Associate's degree, or equivalent education and/or experience, is preferred. 1-3 yrs experience in field of study required. 1-3 yrs customer service experience required. 1 year experience working with Avaya Phone Switches preferred.
