Operations Lead

An Austinbased company is looking for a Director of Operations.  This role will lead, direct, and oversee all aspects of an Operations Service Center.  This includes establishing vision, strategy, and execution for logistics, repair center, and the quality team as well as implementing controls and techniques for cost reduction, on-time delivery and the overall operation’s efficiency.  Must be able to foster and provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to others for an optimal working environment.  Quantify and present metrics and measurement data to management.


Responsibilities:Mentor and provide directions to leads, supervisors, and managers to become successful leaders and build effective teams.  Capable of establishing performance standards and measure the success of teams and individuals.Improve efficiencies within and between departments by developing and tracking metrics, analyzing current conditions and applying process improvements where needed.Strategic planning of process improvements, procedural changes and employee needs with upper management.Provide guidance and assistance in human resources issues such as interviewing, discipline, conflict resolution, and termination.Create and maintain a safety culture to minimize workplace accidents, provide a secure and comfortable working environment and proactively monitor safety and compliance.  Ensure the facility is in compliance on all government mandated requirements.Measure, analyze and adjust the cost and quality of the integration, transportation and inventory.Plan, schedule and forecast resources as demands increase.Supervise all functions of an operations warehouse division which includes repair center, shipping/receiving, order processing, quality management, etc.Committed to implementing business technology recommendations and change management as the operations facility continues to expand.

 

Requirements:Strong leadership skills with 10 years experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, or industry related field is required.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of warehouse operations and problem solving skills.Experience in multi-tasking and managing multiple assignments/activities concurrently required.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.Must be knowledgeable of OSHA regulations and rules.  Ability to stay abreast of changes in laws and ability apply in the work place.Ability to have practical application of such laws, regulations and rules.Knowledge of business concepts like inventory, sales, distribution, and information technology.Knowledge with a Warehouse Management System required.SAP and MS Office with good organization, analytical and computational skills.Project management, process improvement and team leadership skills.Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.
