Oracle DBA - Data Warehouse

Location: Lakewood, CO

Oracle DBA will design, develop, test, implement and maintain data warehouse to meet client needs as part of a development team in Denver, CO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and analyze database requirements; develop detailed database design specifications to meet identified requirements.
- Evaluates analytical systems and applicable tools to implement the multiple layers of a warehousing environment including data warehouse and the report generation infrastructure.
- Write efficient and scalable SQL stored procedures to create ETL mapping procedures to move data from production applications to the Data Warehouse.
- Responsible for on-going Warehouse maintenance including analyzing and quickly assessing the impact of production systems changes to the Warehouse.
- Implement Quality Assurance and Auditing processes to ensure the data supports accurate reporting.
- Analyze new business requirements and design, develop and implement changes to support these requirements.
- Support troubleshooting and debugging of operational data issues.
- Design, develop and administer fixed and ah-hoc reporting environments to support business requirements.
- Design data integration (ETL) best practices to maintain data accuracy and quality.
- Interface effectively and communicate appropriately with business departments and peer groups
- Review and analyze user needs; determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems.
- Manage and implement database security and user accounts.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies.
- Assist with the design and development of data models as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of database standards and methodologies.
- Research, recommend, and implement all database software upgrades.
- Manage accounts and passwords; changes and updates as needed.
- On a daily basis analyze and report on database metrics; administer and control data resources; monitor and ensure database integrity, security, and performance; and implement tools to improve database performance.
- Investigate and thoroughly understand developments in database administration and computer technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor Degree in computer science or in related field.
- 7 years experience as a DBA
- Working knowledge of data modeling using ERwin; database administration problems and requirements; and database analysis and design procedures, techniques, and implementation.
- Experience with using the modeling tool for configuration management to implement and enhance databases.
- Oracle 8i and 9i are the major database platform.
- UNIX skills including shell scripting a requirement to support and maintain Oracle production, testing, and development environments.
