FusionStorm is one of Sun’s highest Sun Certified Resellers and we do a lot of Business with Sun. The Sun Architect will leverage our large Sun footprint and Sun Relationship to help the local FusionStorm Reps engage with the Sun Sales Reps and Sun presales SE’s and build relationships with them.  The Architect will go onsite with the FusionStorm sales reps and engage with the Client MIS manager and work him to bring about the desired technical solution on Sun to allow the FusionStorm Sales Rep to speak to the CXO level and close the solution.

We have an immediate need for an accomplished Pre-Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect for our Systems & Storage Team in the New England area – this position can be in Boston, MA or  NYC and cover the NYC to Boston Territory.

Duties & Responsibilities

This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of Systems & Storage products with SPECIFIC FOCUS ON SUN Solutions utilized in differing environments.  As a cutting-edge consulting company, FusionStorm is constantly developing and deploying the newest technologies for our clients.  We’re looking for an individual who enjoys the opportunity to design and implement SUN technologies in varying customer environments.

Main Responsibilities:

* The Sales Engineer Engineer/Solutions Architect is a key component within the Sales/Marketing/Delivery teams; they are responsible for all technical assessment, design & presentation of technologies and services to be provided to the client/customer.

-  Will assist in Sun solution selling within FusionStorm accounts -  Assist in training and educating both engineers and sales reps on new Sun products and solutions -  Provide technical information to post engineers on Install & Configurations & Professional Services -  Provide technical assistance and information to pre-engineers & configuration -  Assist with target account development on a technical basis. (USP opportunities) -  Provide available competitive information to reps -  Assist in creating complete FusionStorm solutions with the Sun product line -  Promotion of Sun offered programs

Additional Responsibilities:

 

* Sales Engineers may be called upon to do Technical Assessments and make solutions recommendations based on best practices and best of breed technologies as well as perform on occasion, hands-on implementation (post-sales) work.

 

* Identifying opportunities for solutions-based and services-lead sales campaigns (i.e. Plan & Manage) - leverages appropriate consultative sales, solutions, and practice resources to execute.

 

* Coordinating the delivery and quality of pre sales Technology Solutions deliverables within the account which may include items such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposal inputs.

 

* Ability to Architect, Design & Implement Storage &/or Backup Solutions is required.

 

* The ability to Interface with Clients at any Management level throughout the Sales & Delivery process. Required Experience: * 3-5yrs Exp in a Solutions Architecture or Pre-Sales Engineering Role.

 

* Strong knowledge of SUN Technologies and various additional Technologies: EMC, HDS, HP, NetApp, VMWare, etc….

 

* Experience with Virtualization & Consolidation as well as Infrastructure Engineering.

 

* Certifications in various technologies is highly desirable
