Technical Sales Development Manager



TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

 - - Expertise in xDSL technologies and associated T&M applications (ADSL1/2/2+, VDSL2, SHDSL, ATM/PTM, VLAN)
- Expertise in IPTV and VoIP architecture and associated T&M methodologies in the Access Residential space (IGMP, VoD, MPEG2/4, UDP/TCP/RTSP/IP, SIP/MGCP, QoS methodologies (MOS, MDI, VQmon, Vfactor, Rfactor)
-- Overall expertise in outside plant (OSP) architecture with knowledge of test applications from Layers 1-7 (FTTN, FTTH, GPON/EPON)

--Expertise in physical layer Copper testing & troubleshooting methodologies (POTS, TDR/FDR, Wideband Noise)


RESPONSIBILITESProvide pre-sales technical support by creating and delivering compelling pre-sales presentations, and by developing and maintaining thorough and in-depth product knowledge regarding all aspects of the products in their assigned product area.  Provide sales support by learning the products; identifying product applications; and by studying and disseminating market trend information. Assess potentially new and existing applications of the products to meet customer needs; and ensure sales and sales management are kept current regarding product application options. Provide follow-up sales support by disseminating technical information on specific applications to sales personnel and customers. Act as an extension of the product marketing team, by providing customer, product, market, competitive data, as well as assisting with technical documentation.Take the lead with the technical requirements for RFQ, RFP and RFIs.
Develop an action plan based on sales team meetings, discussions, as well as customer visits. Take the technical leadership while perusing target customers within the assigned markets. Contribute to the development of long term technical sales strategies for market evolution. Assess and link short-term analysis to long term strategies; consider whether short-term goals will meet long term team sales objectives. Prepare and review contingency plans for problems and situations that might occur, establish a course of action to accomplish long term sales objectivesSeek out the sales team participation to achieve the established sales objectives.

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or other related technical major. 10 years or more of related experience could also be considered.
Pertinent experience: 5+ years of experience in a technical position.
2+ years of technical applications/sales
Other: Willing  to travel
