Job Description This is a pre-sales technical consulting position exclusively focused on providing pre-sales technical support to the HP ProCurve sales team, customers and channel partners. As a ProCurve Technical Consultant, you’ll be making significant contributions to the overall success of the ProCurve Sales team through consistent delivery of technical pre-sales information, consulting, product evaluation, and support. Delivering tremendous differentiated and perceived value to customers, you’ll ensure that HP ProCurve provides customers with the best overall experience in the industry; not only ensuring that the customer has the best solution for their current needs, but also identifying opportunities to provide even greater value through expanded engagements or new sales opportunities. As a ProCurve Technical Consultant, you will build a close, trusting relationship with the customer through solving their problems and doing whatever it takes to provide them the HP customer support, value and experience this company is known for. This will involve working exceptionally closely with customers, channel partners, HP sales, leveraging HP ProCurve experience and resources, sharing knowledge, driving awareness and demand, defeating the competition, and creation of sales opportunities. Candidate Profile- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering plus 8-10 years experience in network consulting/delivery or Masters Degree and 6-8 years experience in network consulting/delivery - In depth domain knowledge in Data Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Security, Wireless, Data Network Application and Integration.- ProCurve ASE or MASE certification desired- Industry/Competitive certification (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE desired) - Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade- Excellent knowledge of the IT network environment and its future trends- Ability to communicate complex technical contents plainly and simply whether written or spoken.- Strong consulting & pre-sales skills, flexibility and resourcefulness- Leadership skills- Interpersonal sensitivity and customer responsiveness- Operations level knowledge of other network vendors' technologies, and/or knowledge of related third party solutions desirable - Technical proficiency with Windows 2000/2003 Server, and Windows XP/Vista operating systems required.
