Ohio State University Physicans, Inc. (OSUP) is a governed multi-specialty group comprised of over 700 physicians with the Ohio State University Medical Center.

Description:
Supports technical applications for GE (IDX) Practice Management System users and the central business office including, but not limited to, paper and electronic claim form programming; electronic claims downloading and uploading; system analysis; and ad hoc report writing.  Maintains good customer service relationships with GE/IDX user groups through problem resolution

Develops, upgrades and maintains the automated download and upload process for electronic claims and remittance transmissions to and from third party payers.  Works closely with the Production Specialist to monitor, identify and resolve potential problems related to the electronic transmission process. Resolves problems incurred during downloading and uploading of electronic claims, remittance, statements and reports. Maintains and generates the paper and electronic claim edits and libraries according to payer specifications using any necessary tools. Notifies OSUP Revenue Committee of pending and completed changes.  Maintains records of claim form edits and formats in proper terms for GE user groups.

 

Works with third party payers and system vendors to test transmissions and correct problems; notifies internal clients of changes.  Maintains awareness of third party payer billing remittance requirements so that future changes can be anticipated.

Develops and maintains any programs necessary for the remittance posting from third party payers to help improve the efficiency of group practices. Develops ad-hoc reports as necessary. Other duties as assinged.



Job Requirements:

Must have prior experience with file transmission processes and fourth-generation level programming or higher. Must be extremely organized and have the ability to realize the "Global" outcome.  Experience with insurance claim processing or medical billing a plus.  Must be a flexible, independent person with excellent communication skills, who enjoys working in a high-growth, low-structure environment.
