Quality Assurance/Release Specialist

The Quality Assurance/Release Specialist is responsible for the effective development and implementation of programs and practices to ensure that information technology products and services meet internal controls, quality, and business requirements. This position oversees change control and testing processes to manage information technology risk.

Position Responsibilities:
Internal Controls
• Define, implement and enforce quality practices throughout the organization to ensure internal controls, quality and compliance policies and standards
• Implement tools to support processes
• Plan and track release activities
• Develop, maintain, and enforce software quality assurance standards
• Determine data measurement and key metrics to be used to ensure quality and customer service
• Monitor software quality assurance audits and determine appropriate actions to manage risk
• Evaluate patterns of problems within IS that affect both process and product to recommend continuous improvement.
• Facilitate the maintenance of project and business process documentation
• Recommends process changes to internal processes
• Reviews SDLC documentation for compliance and quality

Testing & Release Management
• Coordinates schedule of upcoming releases
• Coordinates with On Demand Hosting Scheduler on moves, patches, upgrades, and releases to environments
• Coordinates change management
• Reports/communicates issues and problems
• Proactively monitors ongoing and upcoming upgrades, creates project plans for testing
• Makes test approach recommendations including risks, estimated timeline, dependencies, critical business process flows to test
• Ensures production schedule achieves business results
• Ensures applications achieve business continuation and disaster recovery objectives
• Ensures application integrity through configuration management of components
• Coordinates activities with other managers and members of the IS and functional business teams

Required Experience or Degree(s):
• Bachelors degree preferred
• Graduate degree desirable
• Oracle application experience required (e.g., CRM, Financials)
• At least 3 years of experience defining and executing test processes including: environment setup, test data management, test script design; test coverage measurement
• At least 3 years of experience developing, documenting and implementing quality assurance and internal control processes in support of system development life cycle, change control, and measurements to achieve service level agreements.
