POSITION TITLE:   Quality Engineer

JOB CODE:  JZ-QC-PY

 

Scope:  Develops and applies technical quality assurance protocols / methods for both product and process improvement.  Ensures activities and items are in compliance with both company quality assurance standards and applicable government regulations. Performs analysis and identifies trends in products and processes, and recommends corrective actions when necessary. Support manufacturing operation from a quality perspective  and participates in strategic development activities when requested.

 

Primary duties and responsibilities:Manage Quality processes in support of an ISO registered Business Management System. Detailed duties include calibration, MRB, Quality representative for compliance audits (UL, CSA, etc.), participation in cross functional teams to solve customer and product issues as facilitator or coordinator, generate business performance metrics, and serve as interface to subcontractors and suppliers. Additional duties may include performing internal and Subcontractor Audits in accordance with established quality plans or ISO requirements, performing trend analysis of business process data and taking appropriate actions to correct and prevent non-conformances, driving needed quality improvements through ECs, CARs, action plans, and process Improvement team initiation and follow-up.

Minimum Education and Prior Work Experience Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s Degree / 3-5 Years Experience in a high technology electronics industry or

·  Master’s Degree / 1-2 Years Experience in a high technology electronics industry or equivalent experience

 

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

 

Must have:

·  Knowledge of ISO 9001 and process improvement tools / techniques and experience in a high technology environment is desired.

·  Work well in team environments and must be self-motivated / self-starting.

·  Must possess strong oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels - both internally and externally.

·  Must be computer competent in a Windows environment (MS Office).

·  Must be able to combine and analyze quality data

 

Nice to have: 

·  Working knowledge of product database management and ERP systems is desired.

·  Formal internal auditor training is desired.

·  ASQ (or European equivalent) Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Quality Engineer is a plus

·  Minimal travel may be required. (
