RF Engineer/Consultant

Job Description:
Responsible for the engineering design and system performance of GSM/GPRS/EDGE Radio Network. Applies engineering principles to optimize network coverage, design and performance and capacity. Hands on experience with GSM NORTEL technology strongly preferred. This position reports directly to the RF Supervisor/RF Manager.

Responsibilities:  
Responsible for network Site Integration, optimization, upgrades, short-term capacity needs, and customer support / TT management. On site shake downs for new sites integration. Night work is required for any interaction with Active network. Routine monitoring and review of radio network Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Evaluates capacity requirements of radio network and works with other departments to meet growth needs. Drive test data collection and drive test analysis

Requirements:  
Solid understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF Engineering tools and antenna theory.
Experience with various drive test units.(TEMS Investigator preferred)
Strong computer skills (proficiency in MS office) – Proficiency in MS Excel
Experience on planning tool (Asset preferred)
Strong MapInfo skills
GSM experience required/Nortel Vendor experience is preferred.
