POSITION LOCATED IN VALLEY COTTAGE, NY 10989

 

MUST LIVE WITHIN 45 MINUTES FROM THIS LOCATION------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 

Position purpose: 

 

Develop Internet-based software using Microsoft server tools, working as part of a small team of peers in an iterative, rapid application development environment.

 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  Develop web site pages, using HTML and Active Server Pages Develop COM objects in C++, for use in Active Server Pages applications and in batch applications. Develop batch “feed” applications in C++ that download data from various sources on the Internet (often in XML format), parse and process that data, use it to update a SQL Server data base, and often send email alerts, both to subscribers and to internal users. Work with internal business users to define and document requirements, develop and refine prototypes, test new code before deployment, and add enhancements to existing software. Perform application troubleshooting when production problems occur.  Find and fix problems, test and deploy fixed code.

 

Position Requirements:

 

Experience and expertise required:

 

·         Requires multi-year experience and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Windows server environment, including Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server, SQL Server 2000, SQL Server 2005, Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, Visual Studio 6.0, and Active Server Pages.

·         Must be rock-solid in HTML, and have significant experience in XML.

·         Must have a solid knowledge of SQL, including queries, data base updates, views, and stored procedures.

·         Must have extensive experience developing in VBScript (Active Server Pages) and C++.

·         Should have a working knowledge of DOS Command File scripting, Windows Scheduler, and SQL Server Agent.

·         Experience with SQL Server Query Optimizer would be a plus.

·         .NET development experience (ASP.NET, C##) would be a plus, as we plan migrate to .NET in the future.

·         Must be professional, reliable, dependable, and a self-starter, willing to tackle problems head-on, but not afraid to call for help when it is required.

·         Must work well as part of a small team of peers.

 

 

 

Education requirement:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject preferred
