POSITION DUTIES:
· Install, Configure, update and maintain MS Windows/Linux/Unix servers in a large complex environment.
· Function as a Subject Matter Expert for Windows Operating Systems in a server-based environment.
· Lead/Implement complex hardware deployments, software upgrades, and significant projects.
· Perform support in problem management, isolations, and resolution.
· Plan, Design and implement Windows/Exchange 2003 Cluster.
· Experience configuring, using and translating system monitoring and management technologies that use SNMP, Network Monitoring, and Performance Monitoring.
· Troubleshoot LAN/WAN problems, implement corrective actions and recommend operational improvements.
· Performs server consolidation assessments, design and implementation of virtual environments.
· Experience with Virtualization using VMWARE GSX/ESX including HA and Disaster Recovery scenarios.
· Experience with Enterprise Class Storage Devices (SAN, NAS), to support the virtual environment
· Understanding of ITIL Foundations including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
· Ensures systems and applications are compliant with applicable standards specified in task orders.
· Evaluates and recommends commercial off the self applications, products and methodologies that can provide inter operable, portable, and scaleable information technology solutions.
Plan, Install and Implement SQL 2000 & MIIS 2003 in Development lab.
· Experience with VMware capacity planner
· At least one certification MCSE, VCP, RHCE, SUN
Qualifications:
· Knowledge Ability to multi-task well, and enjoy working in a variety environments across the industries.
· Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
· Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
WORK CONDITIONS: Sitting for extended periods of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components. Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals. Must be willing to be on call.
