Sales Development Representative
As a Sales Development Representative your primary mission will be to prospect, identify, and qualify sales opportunities for the field sales organization. You will call upon your proactive hunter mentality to go after new business opportunities within your assigned territory. Fortify embraces a ‘team-selling’ philosophy and the Sales Development Representative will work closely with specific District Sales Managers to develop territory strategies to effectively penetrate new business opportunities within a defined region.
Candidates should have a proven track record of success calling on senior and mid-level corporate executives and the ability to identify key business issues, decision making processes, and the needs of the prospect as they pertain to the product or service being offered. Candidate should enjoy working in a team sales model within an entrepreneurial environment.
Job Description:
· Identify and qualify sales opportunities for the field sales organization primarily through outbound calling and qualification of inbound leads
· Work closely with Regional Sales teams to coordinate prospecting efforts into target accounts. Conduct account profiling, research and penetration of target accounts
· Understand Fortify Software product strengths, functionality, positioning, and competition and apply that understanding to a prospect’s specific business drivers and pain points
· Maintain a technical proficiency with web, internet, Fortify products, services, and competition demonstrated by: regular attendance at product training, providing information to peers on objections and technical issues, sharing technical updates with the rest of the team; “mentoring” new and existing employees
· Document and track all activity in Salesforce.com (sales automation tool) including lead/prospect status, conversations, emails, activity reports, and follow–up tasks
· Continually develop prospecting, qualification, and sales skills by participating in all available training, and other skill development programs
· Development strong working relationships with District Sales Managers and Field Marketing organization
· Consistently meet ambitious, result-oriented performance metrics of 50 outbound calls a day meet a monthly quota of qualified sales leads
· Additional miscellaneous duties may be required as business needs arise Requirements:
· Two years successful experience in an outbound sales environment positioning a service or technology solution — software experience preferred.
· Experience and documented success calling on senior executives within medium to large size organizations
· High energy and ability to work in a team selling environment
· Organized – knows how to work independently, set goals and achieve them, self-motivated; collaborates productively with colleagues at all levels
· Ability to rapidly perform effective research on the Internet and develop detailed technical briefs on key target accounts
· Successful high-quality/high-volume cold calling experience is a must
· Professional and savvy business acumen and demeanor
· Solid computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and a Sales Force Automation Software package
· Ideal candidate must have a university degree/college diploma
