The Opportunity:

This role supports registration and checkout systems that directly affect membership and revenue growth of our company. If you are a person that enjoys building business-critical projects in a high traffic, performance critical web application, the challenges of the Classmates’ Conversions development team would be a great match. As part of our team, you will be working on order processing, registration and checkout flows, catalog systems, and a rules-engine based A/B testing framework built on top of our custom content management system. You will apply your knowledge and expertise to provide the tools for reaching business goals relating to optimization of registration and membership rates.

 

What you’re responsible for: Design, develop and maintain software based upon requirements from product management and designs provided by architects on schedule and to company quality standards.Write design and release documents that can be understood by other software engineers and architects.Participate in design, product, and code review meetings.Ensure code quality by writing automated unit and integration tests and supporting QA and performance testing staff.Assist in system configuration and support application deployment (including occasional after-hours support during major deployments).Investigate, test, and implement 3rd party libraries and packages.Assume technical lead role for specific projects and/or releases. Assist in training of other employees, including writing and reviewing team documentation.

 

The Job Requirements: 5+ years of Java/J2SE development in a UNIX/LINUX environmentJava servlet development in a commercial MVC Model 1 & 2 application environment with Resin or Tomcat. WebLogic or WebSphere can be substituted in lieu of Resin/Tomcat experienceStrong experience with unit and integration testing frameworks like JUnitExperience using Spring for IOC and MVCExperience with SQL and JDBCExperience with build and version control tools like ANT and CVS



Beneficial Experience: 

· ATG Dynamo 5, especially with DCS and DPS

· Credit card payment processing

· A/B or multivariate testing

· Content management systems

· Load forecasting and performance testing; developing and supporting software in a high load environment; software and JVM performance tuning

· AOP, JMX, JMS, CAS/Acegi, DOM/SAX/XML, JSP, DHTML, JavaScript, HTTP

· Drools or other rules engine

· Perl and shell scripting
