Senior Business Intelligence Data Solution Architect

Description:As a Senior BI (Business Intelligence) Data Solution Architect, you will work as part of a NetApp enterprise BI IT team who are responsible for data architectural design, development and deployment of cost effective and sustainable BI technical and application solutions to meet business requirements. Strong organizational skills, technical expertise and attention to detail are key in this customer-focused role.Essential Functions: As the Senior BI data solution architect, you have high-level responsibility for the architecture, design, development and deployment of NetApp's next generation enterprise BI solutions, especially next generation enterprise data warehouse which enables advanced analytics, dashboards, data mining, ad-hoc reporting, operational reporting, to cross-functional customers to address their business needs. You will provide a leadership role on technical teams and handle the most complex business intelligence data architecture design and technical challenges. You will also work with management and cross-functional peers on long-range projects requiring creative solutions. The focus areas of the Senior BI Data Solution Architect are to: - Oversee overall BI data architecture, including the design, implementation of next-generation enterprise data warehouse (EDW); integration and interaction between EDW and source data systems; integration between EDW and advance BI analytical applications.- Translate BI data requirements using complex methods/models to determine appropriate application architecture, solutions, and related data needs. - Provide leadership and guidance to technical teams on BI data architecture design, metadata design.- Work within a cross-functional team to provide technical expertise in the design and planning of BI solutions.- Closely partner with BI application architect to make sure all BI data solutions are aligned within integrated BI architecture and framework. - Closely partner with Lead Data modeler, EDW data architects, EDW technical teams to ensure the successful implementation of next generation NetApp EDW according to the data architecture design and enterprise data model.- Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery.- As the subject matter expert for the department, provide management with status updates and recommendations; and strategy planning support.- Provide mentorship and training of other associates at the same level or below on processes and tools; and to handle more complex issues/requests.Education and Experience:- Must have a minimum of 10 years BI architecture experience in Fortune 500 companies.- A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree is required; or equivalent experience.- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.Qualifications:Requirements:- Strong knowledge and experience in architecting, designing, implementing large scale, Enterprise data warehouse that enables advanced BI analytical solutions.- Must have at least 10 years BI architecture experience in Fortune 500 companies. Strong knowledge in BI data architecture, enterprise data warehouse, metadata management, modeling, performance tuning, security, ETL design etc.- Must have experience working with multiple Terabyte level enterprise data warehouse, include business data across multiple business functions, including Sales, Marketing, Services, Finance, HR, Engineering, training etc.- Must have experience enabling large scale analytics using OBIEE (Siebel Analytics) and Cognos BI suites, and related optimization between data layer and BI application layer.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Can do attitude and be able to think out of the box.- Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team of other Architects to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well. - Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.- Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to solving issues and problems within your area of expertise.Responsibility and Interaction:Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often unstructured, have wide implications and there are multiple outcomes. - This individual will apply broad expertise or unique technical/industry knowledge in solving problems that are unique and extremely complex given time, budget and resource constraints.- Demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving strategy decisions.
