...You're an experienced Citrix / Windows Engineer with 5 years or so in the field traveling to various clients in the Maryland area. You have strong Citrix skills, as well as Microsoft Server OS, Exchange, and many other common LAN infrastructure components. Now you're tiring of the travel and you feel like you're bumping into a glass ceiling with your current employer. What you really want is to learn new skills like firewalls, routing, clustering, VPN's and WAN communications; brush up on your certifications; travel less; but at the same time keep up and enhance your current skills. DP Solutions, a Columbia-based Systems Integrator serving the mid-Atlantic region for over 37 years, is expanding its Network Operations Center and is currently accepting resumes for a Data Center Engineer!  As an important representative of the Network Operations Center, the Data Center Engineer plays a prominent role in managing client relationships and works with the other Engineers to meet all the Managed Hosting and Collocation needs of each client.

 

This critical position requires a highly skilled Engineer who is eager to learn new technologies, possesses outstanding communications and organizational skills, and who understands that customer service goes far beyond the delivery of technical skills.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:


Basic Requirements:

 

1. Perform installations, upgrades, and migration projects with Microsoft, Citrix, and Open Source technologies for hosted environments scaling from 3 to 30 servers.

2. Design and architect solutions.

3. Participate in pre-sales consultations and assist in the creation of proposals as needed.

4. Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution as required.

 

Qualifications:

 

1. MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer)

2. CCEA or strong CCA

3. 3 – 5 years of technical experience

4. Experience with Exchange and Active Directory

5. TCP/IP Networking skills

 

Preferred Skills:

 

1. Linux

2. Virtual Technology

3. Cisco Networking experience (Routers/Switches)

4. Juniper Product experience (Firewall/Security)

 

Other skills:

 

1. Strong written and verbal communication skills

2. Ability to work independently or with a team

3. Time/project management skills

4. High level of integrity and honesty

5. Self motivated
