Summary

The Senior ERP Business Analyst is responsible for the effective and efficient application of the JD Edwards ERP system and other appropriate technology to the business of the company. This role will lead in the training, coaching, use and extension of technology to each functional area of the business. This role will work closely with business units to define processes, improve effectiveness and efficiency, and drive overall process improvements. Conducts feasibility analysis, requirements definition, design approach and implementation of these improvements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

1.  Responsible for the effective and efficient use of the company ERP system using best practice analysis and business process methods to insure our technology investment is a superior fit to the company business process. Responsible to work with company business functions to analyze and determine how to apply the JD Edwards ERP system to the business in an effective way.

 

· Provides manufacturing/distribution expertise, analysis, training, coaching and guidance on the effective and efficient use of all systems with particular emphasis on the JD Edwards ERP system.

· Works closely with each functional area to define the optimal business process for automation as appropriate.

· Provides thought leadership to the use of JD Edwards best practices – evaluating other similar companies use, working with appropriate vendors and working within user groups including the JD Edwards community.

· Performs the IT support of user developed project criteria development and validation for process improvements using the JD Edwards system.

· Performs the testing and quality assurance of improvements in process or systems, as specified prior to use by the organization.

 

2.  Functions as a member of the IT department and works closely with IT and functional departments in the company to define and document the business process. Also, eliminating inefficiencies and maximizing the use of existing technology to automate these processes. Provides expert training and coaching to the JDE Super User teams and others to implement technology solutions.

 

3.  Works closely with each functional department to determine the return on investment and business benefit by changing the business process and the application of technology to it. Identifies savings in workflow, personnel, cycle time for product development, product ordering and shipping.

 

4.  Works to insure key performance metrics are defined and measured in each business process and evaluates new methods of applying technology to the business by researching additional application of existing technologies, evaluating new technology, evaluating new methods of manufacturing and distribution that result in performance improvements.

 

 

 

 

 

Essential Education & Experience

 

· Bachelor's or AA degree in Business Administration or other related field and five to seven years’ experience. Preferred but not required.

 Minimum of 4 years systems business analysis experience using JD Edwards World ERP system.

 Required: Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing and distribution business with emphasis on inventory control, warehouse management, shipping systems.

 Demonstrated experience in formal systems development life cycle methodologies and in project management best practices and tools. Prefer experience with Use case development, Unified Modeling Language (UML) modeling, or Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology.

 Demonstrated experience in JD Edwards system training, support, testing and quality assurance.

 Knowledge and competency in data planning, data modeling and data management.
