Senior Embedded Software Engineer

As a senior firmware engineer, your development responsibilities may include one or more of the following:1) Develop low level drivers to support interfacing to high speed interconnects such as Fibre channel, SAS, HyperTransport, PCI-Express, 2) Design and architect software to support asynchronous I/O and DMA data transfers.3) Design and develop diagnostic software that helps embedded system debug.4) Design and develop software to optimize power consumption.You will be part of a global firmware team that is developing a scalable and flexible firmware architecture to support many of Seagate’s highly successful enterprise products. You will work across functional organizations with other engineers from ASIC Development, Electrical Integration, Manufacturing and Quality/Reliability and help the delivery of production quality firmware. Your responsibilities include requirements analysis, design conceptualization, coding/implementation, module and system level integration and test. You may also be involved with bring-up of new board and/or chip designs and help complete test and verification of Products as they mature through development cycle. Candidate must possess a strong background in embedded software development preferably with emphasis on hardware-software integration for non-volatile memory devices including NAND Flash. At least 5+ years of firmware development using C/C++ language is required. Must have prior experience debugging small to medium sized complex code designs. Solid working level understanding of storage protocols such as ATA, SCSI and/or I/O drivers is required. Candidate must possess passion and commitment for completing projects on time. Candidate needs to be highly motivated and be able to independently drive own self to excellence.
