Summary of Job Duties:

Drive the startup and troubleshooting of complex electrical, software, and control systems on the production floor and at customers facilities.  Work with engineering to resolve electrical, software, and control systems issues. Some travel will be required to customers sites, in the US and overseas.

 

Specific Job Duties:Troubleshoot electrical, software, and control system problems on prototype and new machine designs during assembly and startup. Travel to customer facilities to install  new equipment, and troubleshoot electrical, software and control issues with existing installed equipment. Use  PC hardware and Windows software to diagnose and repair complex control system issues. Troubleshoot PLC, motion control, and I/O subsystems using PC based software, and electrical metering and measurement tools. Must be able to install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating system software and applications.  Interface with Engineering on issues relating to bill of materials, drawings, schematics,  software, and control system issues. Write procedures for configuring control system hardware and software sub-systems.

 

Min. Qualifications Required:AA Electronics degree with classes in software and control theory. 5+ years of experience working as an engineering technician. Solid electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability. Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, balancing workload and priorities and insure timely completion of projects.  Candidate should have good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills. Must be willing and able to work overtime.

 

Skills and/or Training Desired:Experience writing or debugging PLC ladder logic. Experience with Microsoft VB6, C++, or C# .NET development tools.
