Lab126 is growing and is looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join the team. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
The Role:
Working alongside the lead EE on a project, this candidate will be dedicated to a project, supporting the hardware design and validation. Will be given ownership of areas of the design.
The Candidate:
This candidate will be an experienced design engineer, with a proven track record of delivering battery powered consumer electronic devices. System, analog and digital design experience required. Experience with audio, LCD, power management a plus.
Positive thinking, creativity and teamwork are essential. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for technology, electronics and computing.
As elements of your daily work, you will:
- Engage with technology suppliers
- Input into the definition of future products and platforms
- Architect, implement, debug, optimize and verify hardware platforms and products
- Work closely with ODM partners on product execution, manufacture & test
- Support the sustaining team
- Work with SW teams on device bring-up and development
- Work with the PD team on mechanical integration
- Take responsibility for a broad range of areas and technologies, including digital, analog, power management, audio, battery charging, EMI, ESD, etc
- Be accountable for delivering on schedule and meeting the performance, featurset and quality requirements for the project
Required Experience:
- 5+ year’s hardware design experience as EE on portable consumer electronic devices
- Proficient with digital embedded systems and analog design
- Expert at bring-up, debug, validation and optimization of systems
- Design for Cost and Design for Manufacture experience
- Schematic capture and PCB layout
- Success in bringing products to market
- Strong analytical skills including basic statistical analysis
- adept with MS office including excel
- familiar with compliance standards such as FCC, EMC, ESD, 3GPP, CDG
Education:
Bachelors degree with technical focus. Masters Degree Preferred.
This position will require international travel.
