Title:  Senior Media/Probe Engineer
Department:  Media/Probe Engineering



Function:  As a member of the Media / Probe Engineering Group, participate in Media development for Probe Storage system. Work with internal and external resources to control Media process quality and deliver Media process for high volume production.

 

Responsibilities: The performance of the duties outlined below will be carried out as part of a larger team developing a complete Probe Storage system.

 

1. Work closely with fab partners through all stages of media manufacturing process, from sourcing starting wafer material to delivering completed media wafers for device integration.

 

2. Implement media quality control procedures at various stages of media manufacturing.

 

3. Develop media specifications and testing methodologies to control media quality. Maintain detailed documentation of the media wafers quality.

 

4. Assist in Media integration into the Probe Storage device.

 

5. Analyze media testing data to guide follow on work and provide inputs to other group members.

 

6. Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.  Assist other team members where possible.

 

7. Must be capable of working as a team member in a new and challenging technical field.  Must understand and be capable of handling the stress of a start up environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications:  BS in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Material Science.  At least 2 years of experience in the design, characterization and/or operation of processes for semiconductors and/or thin film materials in the hi-tech industrial environment. Good spoken and written communication skills. Must have working knowledge of general and specialized laboratory and factory equipment used in this field. Must have working knowledge of computer tools for analysis and database. Prior experience with thin film ferroelectric oxides is highly desirable.

 

Hands-on skills: Thin film processes - Sputtering, MBE, CVD, lithography, etch.

Thin film characterization - AFM; SEM; TEM; Auger; XPS; Optical microscopy / interferometry; Ellipsometry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:  MS in Engineering, Physics, or Material Science. Ideal candidate will have strong experience with thin film ferroelectric oxides.
