Senior Microsoft AD Engineer

TECHNICAL SKILLS – EXCHANGE/AD/OCS

ü In-depth knowledge of the following Microsoft technologies:  Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008;  Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003 and 2007 with Unified Messaging, Windows (workstations) NT 4.0, 2000, XP and Vista;  Office Communications Server; LiveMeeting

ü Functional knowledge of the following Microsoft technologies: Forefront, ISA 2004 and 2006, SMS 2003 and SUS, SCCM, SQL Server 2000 and 2005, SharePoint 2003 and MOSS 2007, Exchange Hosted Services, DPM, MOM and SCOM.

ü Experience and use of Microsoft Operations Framework and ITIL processes

ü Experience with competitive platform upgrades and migrations to a Microsoft platform

ü AD best practices for - forest and domain architecture, domain controllers, DNS/WINS/DHCP, FLSMO, OU structure, site design, GPO, AD monitoring, backup and recovery, AV, patch management

ü Exchange UM design - server deployment options, voice messaging system integration, speech-enabled auto attendant, self-service VM support, OVA, play on phone, UM security, gateway configuration;  Exchange best practices for - capacity, retention policies, DR, AV, message transport and server load.

ü Ability to capture a customer’s user, directory, security, migration, coexistence, monitoring and maintenance priorities.

ü Lead design for each server role - Mailbox, HUB, Client Access Server (CAS), Compliance, Edge, UM

ü Lead design for operations framework - recipient management, resource management, DLs, administrative delegation, public folders

ü Lead design for high availability - CCR/SCC/LCR, storage design, geographic distribution, data network configuration, storage network configuration, image based backup solutions

ü Lead design for OCS implementation for presence, voice and conferencing functions.

This position will be a part of the Microsoft Traveling Team that will be performing consulting engagements for customers nation-wide.  The ability to travel up to 100% is required.
