Senior Project Engineer
We are seeking a Project Hardware Design Engineer. This person will be in a leadership role reporting to the Director of Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of how complex COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems are planned, engineered, fabricated, tested, certified, and delivered.
Job responsibilities include leading engineering development efforts and contributing to the conceptual design, specification, development, fabrication, and test/qualification of COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems.
Assignments include:
•Translate customer and user needs into requirements and conceptual design solutions.
•Lead the requirements development, analysis, and management effort.
•Plan, develop, and manage the architectural and detailed design efforts.
•Plan, develop, and manage the integration, test, and qualification efforts.
•Manage potetntially multiple hardware vendors and coordinate / collaborate with other engineering teams
•Develop and review product related documentation such as Systems Specifications, ICDs, Hardware/Software Requriements Specifications, and etc.
•Critically analyze and verify product performance through simulation, test, and measurement.
•Follow CMMI Level 3 or higher policies and procedures.
•Understand business objectives, priorities and division vision.
•Proactively assess and adjust project objectives, priorities, and tasks so that they remain aligned with higher level objectives and vision.
Required Skills/Education
•BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
•7+ years experience in the conceptual design, development, fabrication, testing, and delivery of COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems.
•Demonstrated ability to comprehend, create, negotiate, and manage requirements for COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems:
–Relationships to other MIL-STD specifications
–Use of requirements management tools
–Traceability (bi-directional mapping)
•Experience in leading technical review and peer review activities including the ability to convey knowledge/information to crossfunctional teams.
•Experience in interfacing with management and hardware/software design teams (both internal and external).
•Experience in interfacing with customers and user communities.
•Basic understanding and experience in process control methodologies (SEI/CMMI) including configuration management concepts and practices.
•Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
•Detail and goal oriented with a quality and team member mindset.
Optional Skills
•Experience in COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems security certification.
