Senior Project Manager - Server Migrations

Overview:  Project manage a migration of applications and servers from one data center to another.  Work with the technology disciplines involved as well as the business and application owners. In this position you must be able to manage project objectives while understanding the sensitivity of business needs. 

 

Responsibilities Act as lead project manager providing on-site support for Align server migration solutions. Manage a project team and understand everyone’s responsibilitiesAct as primary contact and counsel to Senior Management at client sites. Oversee project in its entirety from proposal to implementation.Work with Resource Director to identify resource requirements and determine appropriate team members. Organize project deliverables and define scope of project.Develop project organization chart showing all disciplines and reports during each phase of a relocationLead development of data center and cable plant designs Develop budget and project plans during the analysis and design phase of the projectMaintain thorough understanding of Align billing process, responsible for reviewing and approving Work In Progress (WIP’s) and invoicing on a projectOversee and approve all expenses related to the projectLead business analysis and process discussions in an information gathering session at the start of the project Responsible for all senior management-level presentations to client with needs analysis findings and next steps as it pertains to the projectCreate a project plan with appropriate time frames for a successful implementationDevelop and track technology project budgetsManage client expectation throughout the project re: scope, budget, billing, schedules and timeframesDefine and manage scope of project, identify out-of-scope tasks and present to client for sign off.Provide counsel and solution options to clients relative to project issues.Conduct weekly, bi-weekly or monthly meetings according to scope of the project including technology and management meetingsPerform post-project performance evaluations on team members and post through My CareerAct as Account Manager for specific clients, maintaining ongoing, professional relationships upon completion of project as requiredProvide client with updated information regarding Align’s solutions, seek additional work in all solutions with the clientParticipate in sales meetings with Align’s Sales staff; able to present Align’s Server Migration Solution offerings to prospective clientsCreate sales proposals for new business opportunities, status documents for client projects, etc.Enforce usage of Align documentation standards; assists with updates to existing and development of new standardsShare knowledge/expertise with colleagues by participating in the Align Career Advancement Program (ACAP) as an Align Career Educator (ACE)  – preparing class materials, instructing and providing back-up to other ACE’sProvide leadership, direction, team building, coaching, and decision making for problem and conflict resolution with project teams and members
