Senior Security Systems Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Security Systems Engineer. This person will be in a leadership role reporting to the Director of Security Systems Engineering. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of how complex security/cryptographic systems and equipments are planned, engineered, built, tested, certified, and delivered.
Job responsibilities include leading security systems engineering efforts and contributing to the design, specification, system integration, testing/quality assurance, implementation, and production release of COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems.
Assignments include:
•Lead the security requirements development, analysis, and management.
•Translate customer, user, and certification authority needs to security requirements and quality technical solutions.
•Plan, develop, and manage the security architecture, design, and integration.
•Manage multiple hardware vendors and coordinate / collaborate with other engineering teams
•Develop Security Certificaton Documentation.
•Manage the security validation, verification, and certification.
•Critically analyze and verify system security performance through simulation, test, and measurement.
•Follow CMMI Level 3 or higher policies and procedures.
•Understand business objectives, priorities and division vision.
•Proactively assess and adjust security objectives, priorities and tasks so that they remain aligned with higher level objectives and vision.
•Experience in COMSEC/Cryptographic/Key Management products and systems.
•Experience in developing security certification documentation and related products to include:
–NSA Certification (e.g. Theory of Design Operations (TDO), Theory of Compliance (TOC), Security Verification Plans and Procedures (SVP), Fail Safe Design Analysis (FSDA), and etc.)
–Common Criteria Certification (e.g. Protection Profile (PP), Security Target (ST), and etc.)
–FIPS 140-2 Certification documentation experience is not required but beneficial.
•Demonstrated ability to create, negotiate, comprehend, and manage security requirements:
–Traceability (bi-directional mapping)
–Relationships to other specifications
–Use of requirements management tools.
•Experience in interfacing with certification authorities. customers.
•Experience in interfacing customers and users.
•Experience in interfacing with management and hardware/software design teams (both internal and external).
•Experience in leading technical review and peer review activities including the ability to convey knowledge/information to crossfunctional teams.
•Basic understanding and experience in process control methodologies (SEI/CMMI) including configuration management concepts and practices.
•Strong communication, analytical, and writing skills.
•Detail and goal oriented with a quality and team member mindset.
•BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent, and 5+ years of security engineering experience.
