Senior Software Enginner

This position can be in any US Sun location Storage Technology Service Center is seeking an experienced hardware/software Engineer with broad technical and business experience to drive New Product Introduction (NPI) and storage service tools, requirements and efforts. Depending on candidate, this role may require some tool maintenance activities. Job RequirementsFundamental understanding of storage architectures and environments *Understanding of core software products that interact with Storage Environments (disk management, tape backup, HSM, drivers, etc) *Experience supporting or managing enterprise storage infrastructures *Experience in Storage product or integrated solutions development *Hardware/Firmware or Application development experience in MVS or Open Systems environments *Able to be effective and have influence in a matrix organization *Able to communicate with executive level (including C-level) team members in addition to service support personnel at all levels *Excellent written and oral communication skills *Team player, excellent collaboration skills *Self-motivated, fast learner, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment *Ability to talk with customers and Sun-employees at all levels in the company Understanding of Sun Storage product portfolio. *Experience with industry service delivery processes and factors that influence service delivery costs and customer experience *Ability to build business cases *ITIL Sun Microsystems Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and appreciates your desire to be considered for a position.
