Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, oversee and lead Mercury efforts in establishing, executing, and monitoring internal and external strategic and tactical aspects of assigned product(s) and the appropriate supply chain partners. Identify and direct cost (material and labor) reduction opportunities. Identify and resolve program issues and obstacles in a timely fashion. With limited direction exercises considerable judgment in solving complex problems associated with Mercury business relationships with internal customers and supply chain partners. Source & evaluate new suppliers as required. Prepares RFQ, RFP and RFI data and presents to product development team for supplier selection. Responsible for all project material requirements in support of product development prototype, pilot and first production ramps. Monitors and manages on time supplier delivery performance, AVL, ECO implementations, cost/inventory management, forecast/build schedules, and risk buy management. Monitors supply base for total cost of ownership elements such as price, quality, technology and service. Provide costing analysis, RFQ's, contract negotiations. Attend Project and/or Product meetings as required. Work with engineering on project tasks and second sourcing as required.
Qualifications: A professional level of business and financial knowledge, as could be obtained from a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent successful related business experience. Ten years of similar or related experience in a purchasing, manufacturing, materials or program management position(s) in both electronics manufacturing services and an OEM business environment is preferred. Team player and customer oriented with a track record of success that is innovative. Excellent presentation skills. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required. Has the ability to exercise considerable judgment in solving problems associated with business relationships with supply chain organizations.
Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to influence internal and external functional groups to meet assigned goals. Has a good understanding of business relationship interaction and development practices. Pays attention to detail, is computer literate and has strong managerial, negotiating, administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pricing negotiations, for PCBA, Supplier Management, Supplier Agreements, cost analysis. This position may require exposure to information which is subject to US export control regulations i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration regulations (EAR).
