Senior Sustaining Program Manager

SUMMARY:

To direct a complex set of cross-functional teams and leaders in the support of hard disk drive products in full factory production volumes with a special emphasis on high volume manufacturing operations and processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
It is the duty of the Sustaining Engineering Program Manager (SEPM) to assume responsibility for a number of assigned programs that have been transferred to the factory, and are considered to be beyond the state of raw development
Monitoring, auditing, improving, and releasing corrective actions for yields, DPPM, field reliability performance, cost reductions, and overall customer satisfaction
The SEPM will be involved daily with the factory(s) and is expected to lead task teams to achieve rapid resolution of issues in the factory
As programs transfer to the factory more rapidly, the SEPM’s are to engage with the program teams to help ensure a smooth transition to the factory, such that the development teams can transfer responsibility to the Sustaining Organization and move onto new development programs
Constant prioritization is necessary to keep issues of supply, quality, reliability, and cost in check with each other. Although Supply and Quality clearly take precedence over normal tasks, Cost reduction of these programs is the main and continuous theme throughout the life of the programs. Cost reductions encompass yield improvement, DPPM reductions and LAR acceptance rates, as these parameters directly affect LOH costs

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree level of education in a technical discipline is normally required; in addition, 8-12 years of related or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience; graduate degree desirable
Experience with directing and leading functional teams, leading cross-functional disciplines (Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Finance, Marketing)
The ability to work as a team player, communicate effectively and negotiate highly desired
