Responsibilities:

This candidate will provide engineering leadership for successful design (architecture), deployment and support of complex storage, network, LINUX, and UNIX systems related to the R&D HPC (High Performance Computing) environment.


Major Accountabilities: 



Ø Develop and assist in the development of best practices for designing, implementing, and supporting, Red Hat Linux, SAN, Monitoring, Network and Security. 

Ø Provides mentoring on existing best practices for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux, SAN, Monitoring, Network and Security. 

Ø Ability to maintain technical leadership in the following technical areas: Linux, SAN, Monitoring, Network and Security.

Ø Seeks to increase knowledge/skill in platforms/services. 

Ø Stays up to date with current industry trends and emerging technologies. 

Ø Responsible for project managing all aspects of a technology implementation for technologies in Linux, SAN, Network and Monitoring.

Ø Responsible for working with internal clients, staff, IT and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues on a daily basis.

Ø Ability to resolve problems at a large scale (automation) not just local.

Ø Coordination and cooperation with the corporate IT team.

Ø Responsible for the design, maintenance and growth of the R&D Grid and associated high-performance storage.

Ø BS or BA degree in computer science or engineering

Ø Vendor Certifications a Plus: RHCE.



 

 

Qualifications:

Ø  5 to 8 years experience with UNIX/LINUX systems.

Ø  Advanced knowledge of LINUX based HPC environments.

Ø  Experience designing (architecture), deploying and maintaining HPC environments.

Ø  Advanced knowledge and understanding of SUN GRID Engine, IBM GPFS and NFS file systems.

Ø  Ability to troubleshooting above mentioned systems.

Ø  Scripting proficiency on various Unix/Linux platforms (Perl, Shell,...).

Ø  Strong project management skills.

Ø  Strong presentation skills.

Ø  Strong verbal/written communications skills.

Ø  Ability to provide technical leadership in a fast-paced team environment.

Ø  Ability to learn new technologies quickly and thoroughly.
