Senior Technical Support Specialist

    We are a leading New York law firm located downtown with an immediate opening in the position of Senior Technical Support Specialist with our Information Technology Department.  We seek a qualified, motivated individual to work as an integral part of our team that serves a demanding, but appreciative population.  The ideal candidate will have:

  Minimum 3 years experience in a Windows Active Directory environment supporting 100 or more users.

  Hands-on experience in building systems, including Windows XP workstations.

  Extensive experience with diagnosing and resolving problems with PC hardware, applications, network connectivity, laptops, printers, and other technical equipment.

  Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

  First class customer service skills.  Ability to work directly with non-technical users in getting their problems solved quickly and completely.

  Working knowledge of Exchange 2003 user admin, Office 2003.

  Working knowledge of network protocols and utilities including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.

 

    The main responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  Answer Help Desk calls, and be a principal point of contact with the user population.

  Serve as escalation resource / mentor for tasks that junior staff cannot handle alone.

  Work on special projects, as directed.

 

    The following will be considered extremely helpful for the candidate's consideration:

  Previous law firm experience.

  Experience with Summation, Concordance, or similar litigation support software.

  BlackBerry troubleshooting.

 

    This is a full-time position, with overtime paid after 35 hours.  Expected hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but must be available to start early, or leave late, as needed.  Must be available for periodic weekend work.
