Senior Training Engineer Podium

DESCRIPTION:


Provide ongoing delivery of new and existing technical training programs to COMPANY customers and internal personnel. Recommend and perform course development as required to achieve company training objectives. Assist in assessing company-wide training needs.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

·  Technical degree (BS or greater required, MS desired), or equivalent combination of education and technical experience

·  5 - 8 years work experience in Training & Development or Technical Support/Customer demo capacity

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·  Identify and build relationships with knowledge experts to deliver detailed technical training course material.

·  Teach customers, internal personnel, and other members of the Training and Documentation department the details of product operation and fault finding

·  Identify needs, provide support, demonstrate, and guide students through the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Company Networking products.

·  Travel to customer locations as required to deliver targeted instructional programs

·  Work with the Training and Documentation Coordinator to develop course schedules, and meet customer training needs

·  Lead projects related to the establishment of high quality courses of instruction, and evaluate existing programs for their quality and effectiveness

·  Advanced understanding of telecommunications and optical network products including associated applications to include:

·  SONET/SDH

·  DWDM

·  Layer 1 & 2 Networking

·  OTN

·  Gigabit Ethernet

·  Element Management Systems

·  In-depth knowledge of teaching, training techniques, and instructional methodologies

·  Well developed understanding of customer interactions including business, technical support, and training requirements

·  Superior communications, people interface, and team working skills

·  Excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills

·  Self-starter, capable of leading team projects, and operating independently

·  Superior writing and presentation skills
