We are seeking enthusiastic, results focused professional to join our Web Application Support Team as a Senior Unix Network Engineer. The Network Engineer will be responsible for deployment, troubleshooting and administration of proprietary BioInformatics applications. He/She will help maintain the development environment, and will be a primary point of contact for technical escalation and administrative tasks supporting the developers.

Responsibilities
• Day-to-day operations of IT storage functions including allocating storage to UNIX / Linux / Windows hosts, managing network file systems, administering data replication, tracking disk usage, and resolving performance issues
• Manage, set-up, administer, support and troubleshoot enterprise storage infrastructure and associated systems including UNIX / Linux / Windows hosts, HP / STK midrange arrays, Brocade switches, DAS arrays, HP and Veritas storage software and applications
• Provide support in performance monitoring, back-ups, reporting, problem identification, management, and resolution
• Creation and maintenance of documentation to identify storage hardware, software configuration, and connectivity
• Develop plans for hardware, systems operations, and technical procedures; provide input for disaster recovery and security plans
• Manage storage activity such as planning, installation, operation and maintenance of storage arrays, switches, hbas and other hardware
• Make necessary recommendations for additional storage resources or hardware
• Identify and manage storage service improvements to increase customer satisfaction
• Maintain accountability for resolving service problems and for prioritizing work requests
• Ensure satisfactory delivery of all projects
• Involvement in 24x7 rotation of pager, requiring response within standard timeframes
• Occasional evening and weekend work

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• 4+ years UNIX / Linux systems administration experience in an enterprise environment
• 2+ years Windows server administration
• 1+ year administering fiber-channel SANs
• Two advanced level certifications are required, preferably including both MCSE and advanced UNIX / Linux certifications.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:

• Preference will be given to those candidates who also possess storage related certifications such as from SNIA, Brocade or HP.
• Experience/training with HP EVA midrange arrays and HP Storage Essentials software
• Experience/training with storage virtualization technology
• Experience/training with Brocade or McData switches
• 2+ years of technical experience using Veritas Storage Foundation and related products
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience writing technical documentation.
