Job Description:

 

This position will support the Web Development Team with all aspects of application design and development. The candidate will understand and assess current business functionalities, propose alternatives, and work towards the design and development of the proposed solutions, while exhibiting the capacity to deliver against deadlines.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

· Writing efficient code for presentation (classic ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript), business (components in .Net framework with language of choice) and data (database SQLs, stored procedures, triggers, functions etc); in short: layers that will contribute to robust, flexible, manageable, scalable and cost-effective web architecture.

 

·  Designing, developing and debugging new, dynamic, data-driven web interfaces - with an emphasis on minimized maintenance requirements - as well as maintaining and enhancing the existing web site.

 

 

·  Utilizing the Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) practice and Rational Unified Process (RUP) development methodology, while providing appropriate documentation/timelines for programming and project related tasks.  This includes providing status reports or problem reports throughout project life cycles.

 

· Participating in periodic code-reviews to ensure high quality and bug free web sites, as well as to adopt and follow the Best Development Practices.

 

 

Other Functions:

 

· Assisting in the planning and execution of web site testing and implementation.

· Assisting the Business and Departmental Leads in technical development approaches.

 

Education and Skills Required:  

·  Bachelors degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 5 years work experience.

·  Experience in software development environments: Classic ASP, ASP.NET, C#.NET, Visual Interdev, JavaScript, VB Script, XML/XSL, HTML

· At least 2 years of Microsoft classic ASP experience is required.

· AJAX experience is a big plus.

· Applications analysis and design experience.

· Must be a good communicator and a team player; must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively
