Title: Server Operations Team Lead – Windows/ Lotus Notes / Client/Server
Location: Washington, DC - Metro
Position Summary:
• The Server Operations Team Lead manages the team of IS professionals responsible for the operation, maintenance and life-cycle of server operations environment on-site at a Federal building and at contractor facilities in Washington, DC.
• The environment includes multi-domain Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Servers, SQL Server, Web Applications, and Lotus Notes Client/Server systems supporting a large user community.
• The Operations group works closely with the Software Development group and the quality Assurance Specialist to ensure requirements are met and successful software systems are delivered to the government customer.
• Works closely with the OCRWM Server Operations Manager in Las Vegas in directing and controlling the execution of assigned projects within estimated timeframes, directs and guides subordinates and subcontractors to ensure projects and assignments are complete in compliance with contract performance requirements. The Server Operations Team Lead in DC coordinates with the Server Operations Team Lead in Las Vegas to ensure consistent service delivery and operational procedures within the enterprise.
• The Team Lead also provides competent leadership and responsible direction for the day-to-day operations of the OCRWM Headquarters IT infrastructure. The Team Lead reports directly to the OCRWM Server Operations Manager and provides recommendations on technology refresh, IT policies, and contract performance improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical disciplines
• 5 years experience in large-scale network computing environment
• Additional two years experience in a team lead and/or supervisory position in a client/server environment
• Demonstrates experience in interfacing with clients/vendors
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Excellent people skills
• Knowledge of server computer platforms, operating systems and general configuration management
• Familiarity with software products in the Client/Server environment include, but not limited to: Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and particularly Active Directory
• Experience with full-cycle planning and execution of large-scale computing infrastructures and software systems.
• Project Management experience on IT migration and implementation projects
• Knowledge of large-scale network computing infrastructure systems such as LANs, MANs, WANs, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, VPNs, SSL, routers and firewalls, and how they can affect proper operation of applications and server software.
Desired:
• Knowledge of Federal Government IT standards and electronic records regulations
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance Procedures and systems implementation and certifications.
• Familiarity with Lotus Notes Domino Server, EMC eRoom Server, Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, Backup Exec, AntiSpam measures, and cyber-security hardening of Windows Servers
• ITIL certification and familiarity with SLAs and OLAs.
• Knowledge of Unix OS
