Software Engineer

 

Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC) is now seeking qualified candidates for a Software Engineer position to develop software for our industrial and On-line remote electronic instruments, and industrial monitoring and inspection instruments!

I.  Basic Function:

 

The function of the Software Engineer is to provide systems software design, coding, debugging and documentation work for  projects and application programs at PAC.

 

II.  Qualifications:

 

The Software Engineer must have the following qualifications:

 

1.  A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Software Engineer) or Computer Science (Software Analyst) or a Bachelors degree with at least about 2-5 years relevant software development experience.

 

2.  Excellent knowledge and experience in Data Acquisition based WINDOWS systems programming, with Digitial Signal Processing, Data Analysis, and Hardware driver software.

 

3.  Detailed knowledge and experience in C++ or C# software development, .NET, and WINDOWS programming. 

 

4.  Data interfacing experience and knowledge via OPC, Modbus, Profibus, RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet interfacing is helpful.

 

5.  Ability to document and carry a project from design stages to completion.

 

6.  Good project development habits, positive attitude and good interaction and communication (verbal and written) skills. 

 

7.  Any knowledge or experience in one or more of the following is a big plus:  Nondestructive Testing (NDT), Image Processing, Vibration, Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Thermography, industrial machinery environment systems development, hardware design skills.

 

 

III. Responsibilities:

 

1.  Responsible for design and development of software programs for PAC products.  This includes complete programs involving GUI user interface, data acquisition, data processing, graphing, storage and replay.  It also includes performing one or more of the above as part of a team and working with other engineers.

 

2.  Develop efficient software drivers and interface between hardware circuits and the computer for high speed data acquisition and digital signal processing.

 

3.Project planning and execution must be in accordance with PAC ISO-9001 Policy and Procedures.

 

4.  Responsible for general release of own developed software and related items through engineering including testing, providing necessary documentation, preparation and management of release process.  Also responsible for the generation of Product User and Technical Documentation.

 

5.  Assist customers, engineering and other PAC organizations in using, training, application assistance, debugging and maintenance of PAC programs and software products.
