Software Engineer - Embedded

 Systech Corporation, headquartered in San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) California, designs network device servers and payment gateways that are deployed worldwide in point of sale, banking, petroleum and industrial market segments. The port servers enable serial devices to be IP-based, allowing users to control, program and share access to peripheral devices and data over the local network or the Internet.  Systech payment gateways connect POS/ATM equipment to payment processing networks over the Internet, satellite or frame relay networks by converting dial-up transactions to IP transactions.

 

We’re seeking a highly motivated software engineer that likes involvement from initial product concept all the way through to production ramp and installation.  This person will be a key player in creating and maintaining protocol filters, unit management tools and the general architecture of the products.  Successful candidates will be versatile with a solid understanding of embedded software design.

 

The ideal individual should be self-directed with the aptitude to work well with people. Success in this position depends upon the ability to multi-task, adapt quickly to new development environments, create high quality code and find creative solutions to complex problems.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Design, develop and maintain protocol filters and support embedded architecture in the Systech products.

·  Develop TCP/IP (IPV4, IPV6) network, serial and telephony communications

·  Develop using C, C++ and HTTP in embedded (eCos), Linux and Windows

·  Work with customers to specify and develop new protocols

·  Diagnose and maintain existing protocols

·  Must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and 5 years applicable experience
