Sr. Application Engineer

Position Description:

Educational, Experience, and Skills Requirements:• Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.• 5+ years experience in a similar application engineering/OEM technical support role.• Strong knowledge and experience with PC Operating systems (Windows XP/Vista & Linux), PC Drivers, and Firmware Bios.• Strong knowledge and experience with 3D workstation graphics SW/HW.• Strong HW/SW debug, problem solving, and analysis skills.• Strong written and verbal communication skills.• Ability to work well with internal and external engineering experts (and non-experts) to develop practical solutions to challenging technical problems.• Detail oriented, organized, and capable of multi-tasking in a fast moving environment.• Motivated to provide highly responsive support as needed.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:• Debugging the root cause of Workstation products’ HW/SW technical issues and helping to drive them to closure in a timely manner during the entire product lifecycle (i.e. from initial HW bring-up through product EOL).• Provide HW/SW technical guidance to OEM partners and customers, as well as internal marketing/business unit team members.• Own the AMD/OEM technical relationships and the day to day technical requirements of ongoing OEM projects.• Own the ECR/BOM processes for Workstation Boards. • Build Drivers and Qualify/Assess new SW functionality.
