Sr. Cisco Engineer

Currently, we are looking for a Sr. Cisco Engineer for a contract to hire position in Arlington, VA.  Candidate must have at least some Cisco certificationsSr. Cisco EngineerJob Description Looking for a Senior Cisco Engineer to work in a highly dynamic environment with high service level expectations. Reports directly to the Network Group Manager. Will serve as team lead, supervising a small group of network engineers. Plans and evaluates existing network systems and makes recommendations to manager and client for modifications and enhancements using current or emerging technologies. Helps ensure adequate design, capacity options, redundancy, and overall end-to-end network responsiveness. Recommends and, with client approval, modifies network design, configuration standards, and architecture to ensure IT Security compliance with internal standards and external requirements. Required Skills Ten (10) years of information systems experience, including eight (8) years of specialized experience in Network Engineering and Troubleshooting. A Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent is equivalent to four (4) years of information systems experience, otherwise a bachelors degree is equivalent to two (2) years of information systems experience. CISCO certification required (CCNA, CCNE, CCVP, etc) Extensive hands on experience in configuring, troubleshooting and resolving network problems In-depth knowledge of Cisco products, IP routing protocols, router configuration, LAN switching, VLANs, Access Points, Adapters, BGP, IGP, Router ACLs, Queuing and Compression, IP Addressing, NAT, Virtual Private Networks, Quality of Service, Monitoring and Security, firewalls, wireless technology Experience modernizing a network Experience using network monitoring tools, network analyzers Experience leading teams in implementing successful projects Strong project management skills, including planning and scheduling, ability to keep to schedule Strong verbal and written communication skills, including developing and giving presentations to internal and client management, as required Positive and logical approach to troubleshooting and learning skills Ability to partner effectively at all levels of the organization and with the client Experience with IPv6 VoIP desirable Job Reference Code: kb ciscoeng Company: Modis, Inc.
