Sr. Database Administrator – DB2

 

Education Management Corporation is seeking an experienced professional for a Database Administrator to be part of its corporate Information Technology department and reside in Pittsburgh, PA.  Responsibilities include installation, configuration, monitoring, and backup/restore of IBM DB2; experience with Microsoft SQL 2000/2003, Informix and Oracle preferred. Additional responsibilities would include proactive analysis and reporting of performance metrics on DB2 and Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 databases, including necessary tuning, and the maintenance of these database infrastructures to ensure high availability.  Candidates should be strong in the development of standardized documentation to an effort to aid in effective troubleshooting.  Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related technology field, a minimum of four years of documented experience with hardware, software and affiliated technology issues.  Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills are also required.  Experience with HP Unix required, Microsoft Server 2000/2003 and Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 are preferred.  Familiarity with any of the following is a plus: Citrix and Microsoft IIS.  Interested candidates should forward a copy of their resume to: staffing@edmc.edu .  Please Indicate – DB2 DBA in the Subject line.
