DescriptionThe Planet is seeking a deeply skilled resource in the position of Senior Financial Systems Specialist. This position is responsible for working closely with the Finance / Accounting leadership team on the analysis of the current order to cash cycle; conducting gap analysis around systems and processes; conceptualizing solutions based on best practices; and prioritizing projects based upon business objectives. The ideal candidate will have direct accounting experience combined with a strong technical and functional expertise with the MS-Great Plains ERP package as well as strong working knowledge of the Order to Cash business process.Required Skills



Essential Functions: Work directly with Finance and Accounting users, especially the leadership team, and provide business and technical consulting and analysis on complex business process needs, especially as they relate to the Order to Cash business process and revenue reporting processes. Serve as technical liaison to Finance and Accounting group to ensure that implementation and usage of financial systems and applications support business and compliancy requirements. Lead the technical and functional design of software and application enhancements in support of the product roadmap, following established SDLC framework. Provide technical application support as needed to accounting operations using a combination of accounting skills and knowledge of the Great Plains application. Develop a deep knowledge of The Planet's transactional environment (ordering, billing, inventory management, and revenue reporting) facilitate and lead continuous process improvement initiatives. Review project requests for accuracy and content, evaluate business needs, develop high-level business requirements, facilitate technical analysis, gain management approval. Oversee the technical planning and gap assessment of Great Plains version upgrades. Facilitate end-user acceptance and sign-off of the delivered system changes that they meet or exceed the requested functionality. Will require to perform other duties as assigned.Required Experience

6+ years experience as a business analyst or consultant with deep understanding of accounting and finance.3+ years hands-on experience with MS Great Plains preferred. Experience with other financial applications will be considered. Previous experience must include at least 3-5 years experience analyzing financial systems and processes. Strengths and understanding required around G/L, A/P, A/R, enterprise reporting, standard costing and product profitability analysis. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft .NET framework, web services, OO design principles, SOA implementations, XML, and RDBMS is required.Experience and working knowledge of SOX compliance and PCI compliance needs and best practices associated with them. Experience estimating, evaluating and monitoring large scale projects requiring a high degree of functional integration. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, listening, facilitation, and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work under pressure, and manage assigned projects with little supervision.
