Job Summary
The successful candidate with be a key team member working collaboratively on the development of global Product plans for the CE market segment. The team provides leadership throughout the product life cycle, including market requirements, new technologies and potential product offerings for CE products. This will include the development and execution of product requirements, roadmap development, business plans, and Go-to-Market plans. This is achieved by creative new initiatives and solutions for new and emerging connected consumer electronics product categories, as well as collaboratively working with peers in Business Development/Sales, other Marketing organizations, Development, Engineering, and Technology Strategy groups.
In this particular role the focus will be as ‘techno-strategist’ with emphasis on (but not exclusively on) the process front end including solution feasibility and definition. Example areas of concentration would be user behaviors, connectivity solutions for new and emerging connected consumer electronics product categories and solutions integration methods for a better user experience.
Job Functions
Provide product leadership throughout the product life cycle (market requirements documents, product plans, roadmaps, etc.).
Manage the global product roadmap for specific products relating to the CE market segment.
Prepare and present strategic, competitive, and market analysis. Identify and analyze the possible impact of competitive and third-party products on Dolby products, and makes recommendations as needed.
Prepare market research and monitor partner activities Identify and prioritize product enhancements and new products, compiling comprehensive customer input, and reporting back to Technology Strategy and Engineering teams.
Define product positioning and go-to-market plan, including the development of outbound messaging and marketing materials and programs.
Ensure technical accuracy of customer and reseller training materials and that all documents are suitably localized for international markets.
Define business plans and go-to-market strategies for potential new technologies and product offerings in the CE market segment. Work with other product managers, field sales and Finance.
Other Responsibilities
Application of the above role and responsibilities to emerging Internet opportunities as identified and brought to the teams roadmaps.
Perform duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or any member of the Dolby management team, subject to approval by direct manager and/or departmental VP.
Perform tasks necessary to complete performance objectives.
Skills and Education
BA or BS degree or equivalent in marketing, technical, or related fields.
Minimum five years’ experience in product marketing or product management.
CE industry experience or CE/Entertainment related core technology industry experience and expertise
Strong oral, written, organizational, and presentation skills. Ability to work with diverse employee population.
Broad knowledge of Dolby’s products and technologies (or equivalent industry knowledge), business functions, markets, service policies, and procedures, as well as a focused knowledge of a specific technology or product line and its customers.
Internet and Wireless technology experiences and exposures are highly desirable.
International travel is required.
