Sr. Software Engineer - AAA & Radius Protocols

Job Description Software Engineer – AAA/RADIUS Smart Edge Product Family Location: San Jose In this role, you will develop and enhance software on our industry leading Multi Service Edge Router (MSER) products. Our award winning products help service providers build broadband networks that can deliver triple play services like: IPTV, Video on Demand, Multimedia Networking, etc.Overview:• Design, develop, implement and enhance Subscriber Management features in the SmartEdge Operating Systems• Emphasis on AAA protocols, services, and capabilities • Emphasis on RADIUS protocol• Work includes Service Provisioning, Subscriber Management, Policy Management, IP Pool Management, and High Availability• Analyze customer and marketing requests for feasibility, costs and development effort• Analyze customer defect reports and provide workarounds and resolutions• Write technical specificationsJob Requirements • 5+ years of embedded software development experience in the area of networking and IP protocols • 2+ years of hands-on implementation experience in AAA and RADIUS • Experience with Administrator Authentication and Management is desirable • Diameter protocol is desirable • Experience with wireless or mobile IP subscribers are highly desirable • PPPoX, L2TP, DHCP and related access protocol experience is highly desirable • Excellent C programming skills and IPC experience is a MUST. • Strong knowledge of NetBSD and/or VxWorks; or related embedded and/or multi-threaded RTOS • Hands-on experience implementing multi-tasking and/or multi-threaded applications • Experience with debugging tools, i.e. GDB or equivalent • Understanding of B-RAS functionalities and/or working knowledge of broadband aggregation product lines is a plus • Excellent troubleshooting abilities, strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills • BS in CS or equivalent is required Company: Redback Networks, Inc.Location: San Jose, CA 95134Status: Full Time, EmployeeJob Category: IT/Software DevelopmentRelevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 YearsCareer Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
