Staff Business Partner - Human Resources

 Do you want to work at a company that produces state-of-the-art products that can put a thousand gigabits of digital content in the palm of your hand? Do you like working on a team that pushes the limits of what a whole industry can do? There’s an opportunity to do both at Seagate Technology. The HR Business Partner is responsible for providing a full range of HR solutions to client groups within Seagate’s Consumer Solutions division, located in Sunnyvale, CA.  The successful applicant must be capable of functioning as a coach to senior executives, acting as the single point of contact for Human Resources and participating as a member of the staff of the Vice Presidents supported.  This position will be the face of the customer to Seagate’s HR Product Centers of Staffing, Leadership and Learning, Benefits, and Compensation.  As such, the successful applicant must be able to understand the business needs, articulate these business needs to partnering HR functions and apply HR expertise to develop solutions for an employee population that is broadly dispersed.   In this role, the HRBP is expected to positively influence decisions to improve business results by acting as the voice of the employee base at the staff table and with individual Sr. Managers. Across the organization, the HRBP will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of global HR Programs, understanding the business climate, and representing business needs to the HR Product Centers. The successful candidate must have expert knowledge of the annual HR processes and implementation requirements, as gained through experience and demonstrated project management success. Expertise of HR functions to include: employee relations, staffing, compensation, sales compensation, leadership/management development and organizational development. Candidates must demonstrate good judgment, strong business acumen, effective influencing and leadership skills, project management, program management, and strong assessment and analytical skills. Best candidates must also demonstrate a proven expertise in collaboration across all HR functions and organizational and geographical boundaries. Additionally, an ability to increase the competencies of individuals and the organization must be demonstrated. Business acumen gained from experience working in the consumer products industry or for a consumer packaged goods company would be a great asset. A minimum of 10 years of generalist HR experience and 5+ years as an HR Business Partner supporting multiple functional organizations. Bachelors degree is required, MBA and SPHR Certification is a plus.
