Support Engineer

Location: Richmond, VA Employment Type: Full Time, Employee DESCRIPTION: Responsible for providing IT support to designated business unit(s). RESPONSIBILITIES: SUMMARY Provide support for our internal/external users, resolve and update problem tickets, install, configure and troubleshoot standard software packages, install and configure standard hardware, resolve many technical issues without assistance. Potential candidate must have a willingness to learn and understand the business in order to provide superior IT support.REQUIREMENTSCustomer Service, Must be a proficient troubleshooter, software/hardware troubleshooting experience,  Must have excellent communication skills, Must be self motivated and energetic, this will be a self managed position.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Provide on-site desktop/software support, maintenance, problem solving, configuration and installation · Maintain and update desktop computers (dell) and HP network printers.· Communicate effectively with internal customers, peers, clients, and managers · Troubleshoot routine to complex IT problems primarily on the software side.· Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of assets · Proactively identify potential problems and make recommendations regarding solutions · Occasional overtime and weekend work is required  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES · Must have excellent Communication, time management and client management skills · Excellent written communication skills · Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies · Knowledge of a networked desktop environment, and associated hardware and software · Proficient at troubleshooting PCs in a LAN environment * Must have a good understanding of basic networking· Ability to explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and fosters understanding · Ability to work independently as well as part of a team · Ability to adapt to changes QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS· Experience with Desktop computers, scanners, printers, Office 2003/2007, Outlook, Citrix, Windows XP, Ghost, VPN, and basic to intermediate network knowledge  Contact: PLEASE E-MAIL RESUMES TO: Apply by Email
