Vector Resources, Inc. is a leading network integrator specializing in converged networks and voice and data cabling.  Our growing San Diego office is looking for a Systems Engineer to provide support to customers, backbone engineering, network design and maintenance contract escalations.

Primary ResponsibilitiesManage and perform the installation and configuration of LAN/WAN infrastructures, including routers, switches, UPS, firewalls, VPN concentrators, wireless LAN and IP TelephonyMaintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN networksDocument network layout and designBe on call and respond to client network outages efficiently as neededAssist team members with projects as needed; pre-sales & post-sales support requiredThis individual will be diligent, methodical, and organized with an appreciation for mission-critical service deliveryStrong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear & concise project reportsPrimary focus will be on customers in San Diego, with the possibility of travel to other Southern California locations

Qualifications5+ years in Information TechnologyMust have customer-facing experience in pre- and post-sales rolesExperience with network routers and switchesWorking knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ACLs, ARP, WINS, RADIUS, Intrusion Prevention, Authentication, VPN, and BGPDiverse firewall/router background:  Cisco, Checkpoint, SonicwallPractical knowledge of 802.11 wireless networkingExperience with VoIP a plusWiring infrastructure experience and cabling plant exposure a plusAble to manage multiple priorities and meet all deadlinesStrong organizational and communication skillsProven troubleshooting skillsExperience with Microsoft operating systems and Office applicationsStrong customer service demeanor
