Systems Specialist III

Geiger, the largest privately held promotional products distributor in the US, located just 30 - 40 minutes outside the Portland area in Lewiston is seeking a Systems Specialist to join our growing IT team.  We are looking for a highly motivated individual to manage and expand our voice and data infrastructure.
The ideal candidate has experience with Microsoft networks and LAN/WAN environments, is an independent thinker and has a passion for technology.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and maintain all Intel servers and associated peripherals. Install and Maintain SANs and associated hardware and software Install and maintain all LAN and WAN networks to include IP transport, IP routing, switching, copper,  wireless, fiber, T1, DSL, Cable modem, VPN and associated hardware. Install and maintain Windows Active Directory Infrastructure including DNS/DHCP/WINS Install and maintain Microsoft Exchange servers and other Mail server environments. Install and maintain backup infrastructure for Intel server environment. Install and maintain converged IP and traditional voice networks. Provide support and mentoring to Helpdesk Team and Server specialist I and II. Monitor and conduct preventive maintenance on infrastructure. Maintain a strong sense of security and audits and improves security of infrastructure. Assist in creating and refining IT policies. Experience with the following technologies is desired:
Cisco, HP and Extreme networks routing and switching including 10/100/1000 copper and fiber, VLANs and QOS. Checkpoint VPN/Firewall and Nokia hardware including VRRP redundancy Dell Intel Servers including DRAC, PERC and multiple processor configurations. Microsoft Active Directory 2003 and Server 2003 including DNS, DHCP, File replication and IIS Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and 2007 including RPC over HTTPS and OWA. Email protocols such as SMTP, IMAP and POP3. CA Brightstor backup/restore software and LTO tape technology Avaya voice systems including VOIP, PRIs, T1s and POTS. Terminal Services and Citrix

 

Associates degree required, Bachelors degree in Information Systems, preferred.  MCSE preferred.  Six years related experience required.
