Technical Support Analyst

Leading Global Investment Bank requires a Level II Support Analyst to work in the New York City area.

 

As a member of the Support Team the candidate will be expected to participate as a core member of the global support group. This will involve, but not be limited, to the following :

 

· Regular communications with our client base (internal, and external).

· Technical knowledge, and applying logical resolutions to issues, whilst ensuring stability.

· The ability to be able to remain calm under pressure.

· Provision of on-site applications support to users within different business units within the specific Finance group.

· Be very client-centric and alert to user needs.  Have strong/proven client facing skills in Equities or a similar support role.

· Develop effective lines of communication with front/back office users and other IT groups

· Effective use of support tools and processes: e.g. monitoring, e-mails, telephone hotline, chat channels, call tracking system etc.

· Deployment and upgrading of applications including support of UAT environments.

· Proactively seeking ways to provide a better service e.g. implementing new products, enhancements or procedures.

 

The successful candidate will be an individual with a broad range of IT skills who is capable of working in an environment that requires flexibility and high productivity, either within a team or on their own with a strong focus on delivery to the business.

 

Basic Qualification

 

· Degree (Engineering, Computer Science)

· Unix (Linux &  Solaris)

· Unix Shell Scripting (e.g. Perl)

· RDBMS Skills  (incl. Sybase, MS-SQL Server  and/or Oracle)

· Knowledge of scheduling / monitoring tools (e.g. Micromuse, Autosys ) beneficial

· Experience of financial services sectoradvantageous but not essential.

· Knowledge of Remedy would be advantageous

· Java Optional – but a benefit

 

Strong communication skills are of utmost importance as you will be working with, and supporting the Trading applications requires being able to pick up details quickly from conversations with front-office users.
