Technical Support Representative, Sr. (3105MNSR) DescriptionThe Technical Support Representative, Sr. is responsible for the front line customer support of QLogic products.  This position requires the individual to work directly with the customer to identify the issue the customer is having and either resolve the issue or transfer the customer to the appropriate person who can.  Additionally, some lab work will be expected to setup and recreate customer configurations and problems. Some technical writing will also be involved.The principal duties of the Technical Support Representative, Sr. job are as follows:  Provide professional high quality customer support on QLogic products Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve standard customer technical problems Management of incoming customer issues, including properly following escalation procedures Call management of level 1 customer support problemsCandidates must possess the following skills: Solid Software programming background, with primary OS focus in Linux Experience in High Performance Computing environments Knowledge of the installation and configuration of Windows Server class OS, Linux, and/or Unix Basic knowledge of networking, servers, storage systems, and operating systems with advanced knowledge in at least one of these areas Developed hardware and software troubleshooting skillsRequired ExperienceCandidates should have the following experience: Bachelors degree or better in engineering, computer science, or related discipline, or the equivalent in training and experience Minimum of 5 years related experience; at least 7 years of related experience is desired  Basic knowledge of networking, servers, storage systems, and operating systems with advanced knowledge in at least one of these areas Developed hardware and software troubleshooting skills Knowledge of the installation and configuration of Windows Server class OS, Linux, and/or Unix Experience with more than one Operating System preferred Fibre Channel, SCSI, or iSCSI experience a plus Experience installing and/or configuring storage systems a plus Technical writing experience also desired but not required
